What is perfect skin anyway? Is there a description for perfection?

At Suyu, our philosophy has always been inclusive and holistic.

Internal and external care both contributes to health and in turn skin health as well..

The closest definition of perfect skin can be Healthy Skin.Since skin differs at all ages, seasons, places and phases. So healthy skin is the goal in a broad description. In a world where stress and environmental pollution is inevitable the challenge to great health then becomes to get enough rest and repair.

NUTRITION IS KEY FOR HEALTHY A.K.A PERFECT SKIN

Skin is our mirror of inner health. All what is going on inside is visible on our skin. Nutrition plays a key role in our health and without proper nutrittion, no matter how good our genes, our health will take a toll and eventually also our skin. Since every body is different we can only talk about the basic tick marks that we need to achieve for good skin.

  1. Antioxidant rich diet think dark leafy greens, brightly colored fruits and vegetables. Diversity is key here: as much Diversity we can achieve by having different and seasonal fruits and vegetables the better it is for us.
  2. Superfoods - foods that naturally have a higher nutrition value than other foods. Moringa, Turmeric, Amla, sprouts, Broccoli, Ashwagandha, Shilajit, Brahmi are some of the Indian superfoods
  3. Supplements where needed .. sometimes our nutrition falls short of some key elements. Its important also to not suffer the deficiency and supplement until we reach normal levels.. most common ones are B12, Vitamin D3 and K2, magnesium and Omega 3 acid.
  4. Organic food - very often people do not realize the importance of Organic. Although widely used and abused, Organic means without synthetic or chemical origin and devoid of harmful insecticide and pesticide.. this makes a HUGE impact on our overall health. Eating Organic boosts our health by 70 %.

These four points are the foundation of good nutrition..

WHATS GOOD ON THE INSIDE IS ALSO GOOD FOR THE OUTSIDE!!

How easy is it for to integrate the above 4 points into our routine ? Very much and don't forget what is good for us to eat and nourishes us also is great for our skin. We see the trend already with Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Berries, herbs and fruits.

So think of natural progression from your garden to your beauty kit. This ensures also that you know what you are putting on your skin.

INTEGRATION OF ORGANIC SUPERFOODS! EASY ON POCKET!

Contrary to what might be the normal perception, superfoods are not some unattainable, high priced precious commodity.

We are always surrounded and have access to a wide range of superfoods and antioxidants in our daily life.

Tulsi or Holy Basil, Haldi or Turmeric, Ashwagandh, Brahmi, Neem, Dandelion, Purslane are all within easy reach and honestly cost less than avocadoes and Ghee that you find in your supermarket.

WHAT ARE ANTIOXIDANTS? WHY THE BUZZ?

Antioxidants are nature’s answer to fighting the oxidative stress— Oxidative stress causes inflammation, cellular damage, premature aging, pigmentation, fatigue and dullness. It comes from overworking of the cells and not having enough oxygen in the cells.

Antioxidant-rich foods help the body's ability to fight this and support skin health at a cellular level. This is our HERO in the race against aging.

WHERE TO FIND ANTIOXIDANTS?

There are many different types of antioxidants. Vitamin C and E, Astaxanthin, polyphenols (berries and green tea), resveratrol (berries, grapes), glutathione, curcumin (turmeric) and Coenzyme Q10 are the most powerful ones.

Foods that contain Antioxidants in high quantities are

  • Berries – India look for raspberry and mulberry and jamun
  • Raw cacao
  • Astaxanthin
  • Beets
  • Amla
  • Almonds and Walnuts
  • Herbs like Dandelion, purslane, neem
  • Roots like turmeric
  • Dark leafy greens like methi, pudina, amaranth red and green, spinach, soya bhaaji

Of all of these the most potent one known to man is Astaxanthin. An algae extract 6000 Times more Powerful than Vitamin C and 100 times more effective than vitamin E, making it a powerful medicine against free radicals and a true anti-aging powerhouse.

Astaxanthin works at the cellular level to reduce and reverse visible signs of aging, like fine lines, pigmentation, skin tone, wrinkles, and dullness. This super antioxidant restores the skin’s natural radiance by protecting the cellular structure from damage.

At Suyu we use Astaxanthin for an entire range of face care.  By incorporating astaxanthin into our formulations, we ensure that our skin is nourished with a level of repair and rejuvenation that typical antioxidants cannot match.

Apart from Astaxanthin, we also have other antioxidants like vitamin E, polyphenols and resveratrol from berries and curcumin from turmeric.

WHAT ARE ADAPTOGENS? ADAPTOGENS IN SKINCARE?

Adaptogens are natural foods, herbs and mushrooms that have the capacity to boost the body’s response to stress. What does that mean? When you body is under stress, these foods will come in as extra soldiers and give you that support.

But what does it do in skincare?

Do you know that skin goes through so much stress every day?

Pollution, extreme weather, high winds, strong lights, inner emotional stress, all causing inflammation, aging, dryness or excess oiliness and wear and tear.

These adaptogens help you recover and regain balance faster since they come on as extra support.

Adaptogens, like holy basil or Tulsi, have been used in traditional medicine for centuries, primarily for stress-relieving properties. Ashwagandha another great adaptogen that is used extensively in SUYU skincare is also an ayurvedic herb that has been around for years but has gained momentum now.

But lesser-known ones like Reishi, Chaga, Shiitake that also grow in our Himalayan Mountain range are now getting into the mainstream. Our Suyu Astaxanthin face serums use adaptogens ranging from Ashwagandha to Reishi to Chaga and Shiitake and even common household ones like Tulsi.

CONCLUSION
